The Regimental Archive

The Museum holds about fifty old books and ledgers which form the Archive of the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia) and its Militia predecessors. There are Enlistment Registers, Muster Rolls, Monthly Returns, Regimental Orders, and Adjutant's Letters etc. One book goes back to 1786. But cover is patchy, and there are serious gaps.

The archive of books etc. held in the Museum has now been catalogued professionally, and the catalogue can be seen on the Archives Hub.

Also - below - is a searchable database of former members of the Regiment, and lists of many records relating to the Regiment which have been found elsewhere.
